The Directive Cane Record
The Directive Cane is SSB's lighter, faster straight-cane profile: 36 inches long and 3/8 inch round.
Compared with the 1 inch square Consequence Cane, the Directive carries less mass, flexes more readily, recovers faster, and concentrates contact into a narrower line. Wood choice changes finished weight, balance, flex, and rebound, so each completed cane has its own material character inside the established profile.
Standard Configuration

- Approved woods: Red Oak, Ash, Maple, Hickory
- Finish: Satin oil
- Handle: Straight handle; optional leather wrap where offered
- Engraving: Not offered on the standard Directive Cane
