01 Instrument
Choose instrument
Choose the instrument that defines the build path, overall scale, and compatible options that follow through the rest of the record.
Choose the instrument that establishes scale, silhouette, striking behavior, and the option groups available throughout the record.

02 Material
Choose wood
Assign the wood species that will determine character, visual tone, weight, material risk, and pricing tier for the piece.
Select the species that will define tone, figure, weight, material risk, and applicable pricing for the commission.

Foundation

Base-price species for clean entry builds. Pine and Poplar are the standard Foundation woods.

Standard

Core species selected for reliable performance, balanced presentation, and standard material handling.

Signature

Elevated species with stronger figure, more distinct character, or a moderate material upcharge relative to Standard stock.

Reserve

Highest-risk or limited species with the greatest material sensitivity, strongest upcharge, or reduced bench availability.

Optional
Define the grip treatment, wrap direction, and any handle-side decisions that affect control, finish, and presentation.

04Body Record

The production window begins after Build Review and production release. For custom images, logos, symbols, or other artwork, production work and the 2-4 week completion window do not begin until the final artwork proof is approved. Shipping standard.

The Full Build Price is collected at checkout through the assigned instrument and add-on products. Payment secures the Build Record, material allocation, and Build Review. Shipping transit is separate from the 2-4 week production window.

How This Commission Path Works

Build Review

Scope, compatibility, material availability, proof requirements, and bench release are reviewed after checkout.

Production Window

Standard completion is 2-4 weeks after Build Review and production release.

Artwork Approval + Shipping

For custom images or artwork, production work and the 2-4 week completion window begin only after final proof approval. Shipping transit follows completion.

SSB Standard

Bench Status

Submissions remain open only when bench capacity can support new paid commissions entering the commission queue.

Paid Commission Standard

Full payment is required to submit the commission and secure the build record, material allocation, and bench placement.

Record First

The build record captures the selected instrument, wood, handle, body, finish, engraving, total, and payment status.
