OUT-OF-STANDARD COMMISSIONS

Custom Ledger Inquiry

Some work does not belong inside a standard builder path.

Use this page when the piece requires House Review before a Build Record can be priced: unusual dimensions, uncommon material requests, complex engraving direction, matched sets, restoration concepts, or work that does not fit the existing Tool Builder structure.

  • Standard full paddles, slim paddles, half paddles, consequence canes, and course correction canes belong in the Tool Builder.
  • Basic text engraving belongs in the Tool Builder.
  • Provisions orders belong in the Provisions shop path.
  • Policy questions should be reviewed through House Terms, Shipping Policy, Refund Policy, and Consent & Safety before contact.

Review Chain

How Custom Inquiry Review Works

Nothing enters the bench from this form. The inquiry is reviewed first, then routed.

01 — Submit the Inquiry

Send the clearest build description possible: object type, closest standard format, material preference, approximate dimensions, handle direction, finish direction, engraving direction, and what makes the request custom.

02 — House Review

The inquiry is reviewed for fit, scope, material suitability, legality, and bench capacity.

03 — Scope Response

If the work fits the House standard, the next instruction may include builder routing, clarification request, source-file request, or a private custom build path.

04 — Pricing and Payment

Custom work does not begin from this form. If accepted, the final path requires full-price payment before Bench Release.

05 — Bench Release

Only a paid and accepted commission enters the active bench chain.

Engraving Files

Image Engraving Source Files

Do not force artwork through this form. For House-level image engraving, submit the inquiry first. If the concept fits, source files are emailed with the customer name and order or Build Record reference included in the subject line.

Engraving files: commissions.subspace@gmail.com

Subject format: ENGRAVING FILE — [Customer Name] — [Build Record / Order Reference]

Notice: No image engraving begins until the source file is reviewed. Proof approval may be required before the work proceeds.
