Choose the instrument by its form, handling, and intended role. Wood species, wrapping, body work, and engraving refine that choice. A higher price or harder wood does not establish that a tool is appropriate for a particular person or use.
Compare the Four Core Tools
Full Paddle
16 × 5 in. · From $45
A broad hardwood face with room for grain, body treatments, and engraving. Choose this form when a wider face and a substantial visual canvas fit the intended piece.
Basic text: three size options. Custom artwork: coverage-based options in the Builder.
Slim Paddle
16 × 3 in. · From $35
A narrower paddle face with the same nominal length as the Full Paddle. Choose by the width and handling you want, rather than assuming a smaller face means a milder tool.
Basic text: three size options. Custom artwork: coverage-based options in the Builder. Zebrawood is available for Slim builds only.
Consequence Cane
36 in. long × 1 in. square · From $55
A straight square-profile hardwood instrument. Its geometry differs substantially from the round Directive Cane.
Basic text only: one standard lengthwise inscription on each selected face, charged per face. Select any combination of the four faces. No advanced artwork option.
Directive Cane
36 in. long × 3/8 in. round · From $45
A straight, slender round-profile cane. Choose it for its specific geometry; do not treat a thin cane as interchangeable with a paddle or square cane.
Engraving is not offered.
Understand the Price
These are starting prices for made-to-order core tools. Paid species, wraps, body treatments, and engraving increase the total. The Builder itemizes the current selections before you add the commission to the cart. The tool, selected options, cart, and checkout must agree; contact the workshop if anything differs.
Choose the Material
Paddle grain, color, and board character vary naturally. Maple and Hickory are both available, but species alone does not predict the finished tool's weight, stiffness, or response. Compare the actual dimensions and finished piece. Cane material choices are Ash, Maple, and Hickory; the Builder shows the current species charge.

Finished Release or Custom Build?
Workshop Release: one completed piece, sold as shown. Check its individual specifications and live availability. Finished pieces generally ship within 3–7 business days after payment, review, inspection, and packaging; carrier transit is additional.
Custom build: configure an instrument through the Builder. Standard completion is 2–4 weeks after Build Review and production release. Custom artwork requires final proof approval before that production window begins. Read the current shipping policy and Build Terms.
