SSB tools and education are for consenting adults. Agreements should be understood before anything begins, including clear ways to stop and revisit consent.
SSB Standards
The baseline for responsible practice.
These are the standards SSB follows in education, toolcraft, customer care, and public teaching.
Clear expectations
Rules, responsibilities, rituals, and consequences should be communicated in language the people involved can actually understand and apply.
Proportion and judgment
No rulebook replaces judgment. Physical condition, emotional state, experience, environment, and purpose all matter.
Tool inspection
Inspect tools before and after use. Cracks, splinters, loose hardware, damaged wraps, contamination, or other defects require correction or retirement before reuse.
Education before escalation
Intensity is not a substitute for technique. New materials, tools, methods, or levels of force should be approached deliberately and conservatively.
Aftercare and review
Partners should understand what post-scene or post-correction care, communication, observation, and follow-up they have agreed to.
Accurate teaching
SSB separates principle, experience, and opinion. One household's way of doing things should never be presented as universal law.
Craft standards
SSB tools are selected, shaped, finished, inspected, and documented to be used. Looks never outrank structural soundness.
